Data anonymization
Remove PII from a spreadsheet
Before a spreadsheet goes to a contractor, an auditor, a support ticket or an AI tool, take the personal data out. The columns that hold it are found for you; you decide whether to pseudonymize, mask or remove each one.
Drop a CSV or Excel file
Or click to choose. Up to 200 MB; the file is processed on this computer and never uploaded.
What is detected
Email addresses, US and international phone numbers, Social Security numbers and ITINs, EINs, card numbers (checked with the Luhn digit), IBANs (checked with their check digits), IP addresses, ZIP and postal codes, street addresses, dates of birth, and first, last and full names. Detection uses the column header and the values themselves, so a column called "contact" full of email addresses is still found.
Choose per column
Pseudonymize when the column must stay usable for matching. Mask when people need to recognize a record, such as the last four digits of a card. Generalize dates of birth to the year and ZIP codes to three digits. Remove what is not needed at all, which is the safest option.
Check before you send
A preview shows the first rows before and after, so you can see what changed. Detection can miss personal data in unusual formats, so a quick look at the preview is part of the job.

Questions
- Is the result anonymous?
- Removing or generalizing columns can make data anonymous. Pseudonymized data is still personal data for anyone who has the key file, which is why the key file is separate and stays with you.
- Does it work for files with no headers?
- Yes. The first row is treated as the header, and detection then relies on the values.
