Data anonymization
Anonymize data in an Excel file
Open an .xlsx file and the first sheet is checked column by column. Choose to pseudonymize, mask, generalize or remove each column, preview the result, and download it as Excel or CSV.
Drop a CSV or Excel file
Or click to choose. Up to 200 MB; the file is processed on this computer and never uploaded.
Instead of find-and-replace
Replacing names by hand or with formulas misses variants, breaks when the same person is spelled differently, and leaves the originals in the edit history. Here every distinct value gets one stand-in, regardless of case and spacing, and the output is a new file with no trace of the originals.
Names inside notes and comments
Free-text columns are scanned for emails, phone numbers, SSNs, card numbers, IBANs and IP addresses, and for names: those that appear in the file's own name columns, and common first-and-last-name pairs. Each is replaced with the same pseudonym used elsewhere in the file.
What comes out
An .xlsx with the header row bold and frozen, numbers kept as numbers, and the columns you removed left out. Or a CSV, if the data goes into another system.

Questions
- Are all sheets processed?
- The first sheet. If a workbook has several sheets, save the one you need as its own file or move it to the front.
- Do formulas survive?
- Cells are read as their values; the output contains values only, which is usually what you want in a file that is shared.
