Consistent, so the data still works

A pseudonym replaces each value with a stand-in that is the same everywhere the value appears: the same customer gets the same PERSON code in every row, and the same email address the same placeholder address. Joins, counts, duplicates and grouping still work on the anonymized file, which is what makes it useful for analysis, testing or a vendor.

Any CSV layout

Comma, semicolon, tab and pipe delimiters are detected, quoted fields with line breaks are kept intact, and files in UTF-8 or Windows-1252 are read correctly. The result is written back with the same delimiter, so it opens in the same tools as the original.

Nothing leaves your computer

Reading, detection and replacement all run in the page. Only the number of rows and a one-way hash of the file are sent, to count rows for your plan. That makes it usable for files you are not allowed to upload to an online converter.
